Tom Carroll
Education:
Thomas Eliot Carroll graduated with honors from Haverford College, where he was awarded the Howard Comfort Prize in Latin. He majored in Classical Languages and minored in Physics. His senior thesis explored interpretive motifs in Vergil’s Aeneid and Barlow’s Columbiad, a revolutionary-era American epic. He has also studied at the Berkeley Summer Greek Workshop and spent a semester in Rome at the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies.
Research and Teaching Interests:
Thomas’s research interests include modern receptions and reinterpretations of Classics, literary theory, and the role of texts in constructing national identities.
