Stephanie Crooks
BA, University of Pennsylvania, 2010
Stephanie Crooks received her BA in Classical Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010, and entered the Post-baccalaureate program the same year. As an undergraduate, Stephanie studied abroad at College Year in Athens in the spring of 2009. Additionally, in June 2010, she participated in the second year of “Excavating the Roman Peasant,”, an archaeological dig sponsored by Cornell University, the University of Pennsylvania and the Universitè di Grosetto. Although her interests have remained rather broad up to this point, Stephanie is especially interested in Homeric epic and Euripidean tragedy, and the way in which the female characters present in each (Penelope, Dido, Medea, Andromache, etc.), are reconstructed by later, Latin authors such as Ovid and Seneca.
