Brief Biography:
Andrew Henry received his B.A. summa cum laude in History from Messiah College in 2010. In addition to serving as an archaeology research assistant, he has volunteered for one season on the Pyla-Koutsopetria Archaeological Project in Larnaka, Cyprus, helping to catalogue and analyze artifacts excavated from a 5th-century Christian basilica. His research interests include the religions of Late Antiquity, specifically early Christian theology, patristics, and the persistence of Roman polytheism in Late Antiquity. His senior research paper examined the motivations behind the clergy’s denunciation of laypeople using apotropaic objects, such as amulets, during the 4th–5th centuries C.E.
