Brief Biography:
Dominic Machado earned a B.A. (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) in Ancient History and Economics from Dartmouth College in 2009, where he wrote an honors thesis on Marcus Claudius Marcellus. In the fall of 2010, he entered the Penn Post-Bac in Classical Studies. His interests include the development of Roman militarism during the conquest of the Mediterranean, Roman numismatics and the reception of Classics in modern entertainment. With Paul Christesen, he has presented his research in the paper "Gods, Generals and Games" at the 2008 Meeting of the APA and the 2010 Classical Association of New England Summer Institute.
