  The Department of Classical Studies at the University of Pennsylvania hosted a conference on Greek and Roman Divination on April 20 - 21, 2001. A group of a dozen international scholars addressed the topic from the interdisciplinary pe rspective it demands. Their fields of expertise include ancient religion, history, philosophy, magic, semiotics and the material culture of ancient religious practices. All sessions were held at the University of Pennsylvania. Speakers included: Walter B urkert (keynote), Mary Beard, Albert Henrichs, Suzanne Said, David Frankfurter, and the organizers, Fritz Graf, Sarah Iles Johnston, Chris Faraone, and Peter Struck.
Sessions ran from 9.30am - 6 pm on Friday, April 20 and 9 am - 1.15 pm on Saturday, April 21. More detailed scheduling information is available.
  All sessions held at the University of Pennsylvania, in the Amado Recital Hall, room 110 Irvine Auditorium, located at 3401 Spruce St., in Philadelphia.
