Ineke Sluiter, Visiting Scholar in Classical Studies

Ineke Sluiter, Visiting Scholar in the Department of Classical Studies during the week of October 12–16, 2015.

Professor Sluiter is an expert in Greek literature who teaches at the University of Leiden. She is a winner of the prestigious Spinoza Prize (2010) and has been a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences since 2012. During her residency at Penn, Professor Sluiter will lecture on "Mindreading Medea" in the Penn Classical Studies Colloquium on October 15, and on "Anchoring Innovation" in the Center for Ancient Studies' conference on "The Language of the Past and the Future of Ancient Studies" on October 17. Professor Sluiter's residency is made possible by a FEW Grant from the Trustees' Council of Penn Women's Fund to Encouage Women.
