Kelly McArdle

Kelly graduated summa cum laude from Temple University in 2015 with a B.A. in Classical Languages and Literature. She wrote her senior thesis on female exemplarity and martyrdom in Book One of Livy's Ab urbe condita with a generous research grant from the Diamond Research Scholars Program. After graduating, Kelly accepted a position as a long term Latin substitute at a New Jersey high school where she taught students at various levels. Her current interests broadly include Homer, Latin elegy, and gender in the ancient world. Moving forward, she hopes to work specifically on sexual violence and the value of the female body in antiquity.
