Rita Copeland's Edited Volume: "The Oxford History of Classical Reception in English Literature"

Congratulations to Professor Rita Copeland, whose edited volume The Oxford History of Classical Reception in English Literature offers the most up-to-date and comprehensive account of the reception of Classical literature in English. Volume 1: 800-1558 provides an extensive and thorough introduction to the period.

The volume features two Penn faculty: Emily Steiner, who wrote the chapter on “Alliterative Poetry and the Time of Antiquity,” and Cam Grey, who wrote the chapter on “Historiography and Biography from the Time of Gildas to Gerald of Wales.”
