Emily Wilson will give Lecture III: "The Wisdom of Stories" as part of the Gennadius Library's 2023-24 Thalia Potamianos Lecture Series

This is Emily Wilson's third lecture on her 2017 translation of Homer's "Odyssey" in the American School of Classical Studies at Athens' 2023-24 Thalia Potamianos Annual Lecture Series.

“My three talks will examine the themes of heroic greatness, destiny and wisdom in the Homeric poems and other works of ancient Greek literature,” explained Prof. Wilson. “I will reconsider the connections, gaps and differences between antiquity and contemporary cultures.”
