Bill Beck's research focuses on Homeric epic and its reception, particularly its scholarly reception in antiquity. He is currently at work on three book projects: a monograph, The Narrative of the Iliad: Time, Space, and Story, based on his Penn dissertation; a translation, The Ancient Scholia to Homer’s Iliad: A Translation, Vol. 1; and a co-edited volume, Exegesis, Interpretation, Dialogue: Reading the Iliad Scholia. His writing has appeared in Transactions of the American Philological Association,Yearbook of Ancient Greek Epic, Vergilius, Bryn Mawr Classical Review, Eidolon, Slackjaw, Unravel, and Tellus.
