Daniel Mackey

Daniel Mackey received his B.A. in Ancient Studies from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) summa cum laude, where he also minored in Religious Studies and Philosophy. His academic interests include Homer, ancient Greek music, the notion of friendship in antiquity, and ancient philosophical conceptions regarding the nature of the soul. His undergraduate research focussed on the reconstruction of ancient Greek pieces of music as performed on the chelys-lyre. After completing the Post-Baccalaureate program in Classical Studies at Penn, he hopes to go on to earn a Ph.D. in Classical Literature and Philology.
